Note: This program is for INSCOL students only.

This program is offered in Seneca's hybrid delivery format. Some coursework is online and some must be completed in person. Students will need to come on campus to complete in-person learning requirements.

About the Program

This program is for internationally educated nurses (IENs) who hold a Registered Nursing diploma or Bachelor of Nursing degree and are certified to provide nursing care in a country other than Canada.

Upskill and develop confidence in your ability to practice nursing, consistent with Canadian nursing regulations. This program will provide you with a solid foundation in essential nursing and ethical practices, physical assessment, nursing psychomotor skill mastery, clinical judgment, clinical decision making and care for clients. 

This program provides specialized training but does not qualify you to work as a nurse in the province. Please see the College of Nurses of Ontario for their guidelines.

Skills

Throughout this program you will develop the following skills:

  • Conduct holistic client assessments to plan and provide individualized, trauma informed, culturally appropriate nursing care

  • Facilitate professional and therapeutic communication with individuals, families, diverse populations, and health-care team members 

  • Comply with Canadian nursing regulatory standards, practices, and legislation

This program includes 252 hours of in-person supervised clinical placement in the second semester.
