The Academic Pathways team provides a number of services to help students to continue their education at Seneca or other institutions, including research and application assistance, information sessions, advisement appointments and events. 

 

If you have a disability that might affect your learning, we’re here to support you. With appropriate documentation, we can help with academic accommodations, adaptive technologies and learning specific skills that will help you engage fully in your program at Seneca.

 

Counselling is available for students who might be dealing with a variety of personal problems. The demands of school can feel overwhelming and there are times when unexpected events happen in our lives. Counsellors are here to help you through life’s difficult moments.

 

First Peoples@Seneca is dedicated to supporting Indigenous students (First Nations, Métis and Inuit) on our campuses. Services include advisement, tutoring, mentoring, workshops, cultural teachings and social events. These services are offered in a culturally appropriate way to create understandings and learnings about Indigenous peoples.

 

Our international student services is here to help you easily transition to life at Seneca. Our services include free airport pickup, housing and accommodation assistance, International student orientation, visa assistance, health insurance, and monthly trips and activities.

 

For those who need help with their courses, our Learning Centres provide various approaches to learning support, including workshops, tutoring, one-on-one sessions, exam preparation and online learning supports. We can help you develop learning strategies and skills essential to success in your program.

 

Seneca Libraries offer resources and services online and on-campus to enhance the academic interests of our students, faculty and staff. Our digital collection of databases, books, magazines, journals and videos are tailored to your learning, research and recreational interests. Seneca Libraries also host Seneca Archives, a repository and research space that holds historical resources, that is open to the Seneca community and public. Our website is designed to provide program-specific assistance through eLearning resources such as Mylearning and Lynda.com, which cover topics from essay writing to learning computer programs. Our on-site facilities offer study spaces, digital media spaces such as Sandbox, research support and additional assistance.

 

Seneca Works supports students with career planning throughout their academic studies as we believe that the career development journey starts from the moment you arrive at Seneca. We help prepare you for success in today’s workforce by connecting students and graduates with employers. Through one-on-one resumé critiques, interview preparation, employer on-site interviews, career fairs, plus a job bank of 16,000+ organizations posting 7,000+ jobs per year, we help you reach your career goals. We also support you in obtaining co-ops or work terms at an organization in your chosen field. Working in a professional setting is an important step in bridging the gap between theory and practice in order to gain invaluable work experience.

Full-time Seneca students are assigned a dedicated student adviser with program-specific knowledge. Our student advisers will work with you throughout your program and help you access the services and supports you need to be successful.

 

Seneca has a long and proud tradition of sporting excellence as one of the most decorated athletic programs in the history of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association. From varsity teams to campus recreation and fitness programming to great facilities, Seneca offers many ways for you to stay active and healthy or to just have fun.
 

Global Learning and Engagement brings the world to Seneca, and Seneca to the world. Gain a global perspective and develop new skills for personal, professional and academic growth, at Seneca or abroad. Orientation is a great way to meet other students, become familiar with the campus, learn more about your program and have fun! It will help you easily transition to life at Seneca.

Peer Mentoring is a free program designed to help new students make the most of their college life and have a successful start at Seneca.

Join one of our clubs or associations (or start one of your own) and reap the benefits. Meet people with similar interests, network, build relationships and develop your leadership skills.
 

The Seneca Student Federation (SSF) is a student-run organization aimed at making life more meaningful for you as a Seneca student. The SSF helps you engage with the Seneca community, build lasting relationships and, of course, have fun in the process.
 

The Seneca Leadership Program provides you with an opportunity to grow and develop as a Seneca student leader and earn your Leadership Certificate. The program is made up of three categories: personal development, organizational development and community development. You will have access to workshops, guest speakers, volunteer opportunities and two leadership institutes. You also have the opportunity to put your leadership skills into action by volunteering for a non-profit organization on or off campus through Seneca Serves.
