Learn what programs are PGWP-eligible

Thanks for your interest in Seneca Polytechnic. International students interested in working in Canada after they graduate may be eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

This permit is issued by the Government of Canada through Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

IRCC has published new PGWP eligibility requirements for students who have applied for a study permit on or after November 1, 2024, which include graduating from a program linked to one of five priority fields of study: agriculture and agri-food, healthcare, science/technology/engineering/mathematics, trade and transport. Students who have applied for a study permit before November 1, 2024 are not impacted by these changes and will be eligible to apply for PGWP regardless of study program.  Visit our FAQs to learn more about these changes.

The following Seneca programs are PGWP eligible and align with IRCC’s field of study requirements as of December 4, 2024.

This list may be updated with additional programs, so please check back often. View program availability for the upcoming terms.

CIP Code (Classification of Instructional Programs): A CIP code is a standardized code used in Canada to classify postsecondary education programs by field of study. Use CIP codes to search PGWP eligible programs and confirm alignment with IRCC’s latest PGWP eligibility requirements.
