About the Program

This eight-month graduate certificate program provides internationally educated nurses with specialized training related to the prevention and management of cardiovascular illness/disease. These diseases impair everyday physical and mental functions and reduce the ability to perform daily activities. As a graduate of this program, you will be well equipped to manage patients with cardiovascular conditions. You will acquire the skills to manage a patient’s cardiac condition, create an individualized care plan, educate patients on self-care and assess their condition. This program provides specialized training but does not qualify you to work as a nurse in the province. Please see the College of Nurses of Ontario for their guidelines.
