This program was created for individuals who have a passion for skincare. The Beauty Therapist Certificate of Completion consists of four courses covering basic esthetics, skin, facial massage and specialized skin treatments. In addition, students will gain an understanding of business operations in esthetics and the various career pathways available in the industry. In the Beauty Therapist Certificate of Completion, students will learn how to analyze skin types and will gain the knowledge to perform fundamental and advanced facial treatments including: specialty masks, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and light therapy treatments currently performed in medical spas. Successful candidates may apply for the Beauty Therapist Certificate of Completiont upon completion of all four courses.

This course introduces students to the chemistry of various products designed for and used by estheticians. Nutrition as it relates to the skin, hygiene and bacteriology. Students learn the steps required to set up an esthetic salon and it's day to day operation.
COS820 (may be taken concurrently)
This course examines the structure and function of the skin, bones, and muscles of the face and neck as they apply to advanced esthetic practice. Students study the principles of facial care, analysis of the skin and its characteristics, skin problems and disorders. Theory is continually integrated with practical work.
This course introduces students to the techniques for facial massage and masque procedures as well as the study of the lymphatic system. Theory classes cover the history of massage. Various types of facial massages techniques are introduced. Basic aromatherapy and uses of essential oils are integrated during facial.
Through the use of innovative technologies and products, students will learn to perform and customize advanced specialized skincare treatments to treat various skin types, conditions and aging skin. Field trips may be arranged.
