If you lack appropriate prerequisites (or Transfer Credit for the prerequisite course) you may be asked to withdraw or transfer to a more appropriate course with the risk of academic/financial penalty.
Part-time Studies courses are being offered in either of the following four formats: Online, Flexible, In-person, Hybrid. Click Availability below to see current offerings.

This course introduces students to specialty makeup application techniques for fashion and bridal photography. Natural to high fashion looks, runway and historical makeup are included. Professional photo sessions assist students to develop a portfolio of their work.
Airbrush is the most advanced method of applying makeup. Using airbrushing techniques, students learn to create a variety of looks from natural to glamour and fantasy. Topics include safety, equipment, products, making and using stencils and shields, designs for the face and body and creating temporary tattoos.
Makeup application for the theatre requires a knowledge of the proper use of colours and the particular effects that lighting has on colour. Students learn to design makeup for various distance ranges in production work. Students must purchase some supplies.
This course is designed to allow the student to conduct character studies and to skillfully create and convey characters through the use of makeup. Topics include latex aging, facial hair and bald caps.
This course qualifies students to apply make-up professionally for film or television productions. Students learn to apply eyebrow covers, facial lifts, pates, and to apply make-up for the television studio and film. Period make-up, aging for television techniques and casualty simulation are included.
Knowing how to read a script is necessary in organizing make-up needs, assessing the time required for a film or television series, preparing a budget, and scheduling make-up call times. Human relations requirements for success in dealing with an employer and the performing artists are studied, as well as the business practices essential for a career as a freelance make-up artist.
