This program is designed to provide knowledge and skills for people working or interested in entering applied health fields such as behavior therapy and social work. It's been developed through a partnership between Seneca Polytechnic and Autism Ontario.
It will equip you with a good foundation for work as a behavior technician, a professional who works directly with individuals to implement behavior plans, observe and track behaviors, and provide support under the supervision of a certified behavior analyst. Behavior technicians often work with individuals with autism or other developmental needs to help improve their skills and quality of life.
You will learn how to identify patterns in observable behaviours, develop strategies for effective behaviour change, and cultivate compassion to create a supportive environment. In addition, you’ll be taught collaboration skills, the principles of changing behaviour, and about technology and tools used across the industry.
This training program is designed to meet the 2026 training eligibility requirement for RBT certification. This training is offered independent of the BACB. For more information on additional certification requirements, please refer to the official handbook available on the BACB website.
