The School of Aviation assesses and measures the program’s learning outcomes and curriculum by completing formative assessments that: 

• explain how the program learning outcomes reflect current industry needs and expectations
• explain how the program learning outcomes are properly structured (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, time-limited)
• provide one or two examples of evidence of how the program knows graduates are achieving the program learning outcomes
• explain how the sequencing of the curriculum allows for appropriate scaffolding of learning and development of discipline knowledge and skills

The School of Aviation assesses and measures the program’s pathways, partnerships, work-integrated learning, applied research and experiential learning opportunities by completing formative assessments that: 

• update the pathways (or block transfers) in or out of the program
• describe any community partnerships the program has explored/established
• describe any work-integrated learning opportunities provided by the program
• describe any applied research opportunities for students in the program
• describe any other experiential learning opportunities for students in the program
• explain further plans to extend, improve or add to the partnerships, pathways or research projects  

The School of Aviation assesses and measures the program’s ability to contribute to Seneca’s core literacies by completing formative assessments that illustrate how students of the program are taught, given appropriate space to practise and are assessed on three of the Seneca core literacies. 

The School of Aviation assesses and measures the program’s teaching and learning strategies by completing formative assessments that:

• explain the reflective practice and professional development activities related to improving teaching skills and abilities
• explain faculty’s use of teaching and assessment methods, and how they align with course and program learning outcomes
• explain how student feedback to support continuous improvement
• explain how the program adequately prepare students for external exams or accreditation (if any)

The School of Aviation assesses and measures the program’s advisory committee by providing examples of how the PAC has supported the program over the last year.

The School of Aviation assesses and measures the program’s graduation rate by explaining strategies that are being used to address any current concerns with graduation rates.

The School of Aviation ensures continuous assessment by: 

• reviewing the Recommended Action Plan (RAP) for the program and updating the progress for each item
• providing a brief update, directly on the RAP document, on items that are in progress or have been completed, and any plans to monitor/evaluate the outcomes
• identifying and briefly describing any action plan items that need to be revised
• adding directly to the end of the list on RAP document any new recommendations or action items and their timelines for completion
