Promotion Period

The Start at Seneca Week “Confirm & Pay for a Chance to Win $500 on a Seneca Polytechnic OneCard” promotion, which is sponsored by Seneca, begins on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 9 a.m. EDT and closes Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Eligibility

Eligible participants in the promotion are domestic applicants who register for Start at Seneca Week and have an offer of admission to a full-time Seneca certificate, diploma, advanced diploma, graduate certificate or degree program for the academic term beginning January 2025 or May 2025. Participants must confirm their offer, if not already confirmed, AND pay their non-refundable deposit during the promotion period.

Promotion is open only to full-time students who at the time of entry are at least 17 years of age and have completed Grade 12; or 19 years of age or over (a Mature Student). Contestants must be residents of Canada (excluding Quebec). Entering the promotion is free. All participants agree to abide by these rules and all decisions of Seneca, which are final in all matters relating to this promotion.

Entry

To enter, a participant must have received an offer of admission to a full-time Seneca program for January 2025 or May 2025 and must confirm their offer, if not already confirmed, AND pay their non-refundable deposit during the promotion period. A participant may confirm their offer and pay their fees in person at any campus during the Start at Seneca Week campus tour events or complete these steps online at home during the promotion period.

Seneca will not be responsible for any supplementary fees.

The Draw

All eligible participants will have their names entered into a random draw upon confirmation of their offer of admission and payment of the non-refundable deposit. Five winners will be selected on Nov. 1, 2024, from among all eligible entries received.

The first five entries drawn, for which the entrants satisfy the eligibility criteria, will be eligible to win the prize. The selected entrants will be contacted by email or telephone using the information provided on their application to Seneca. The selected entrants will be deemed winners if they meet all the eligibility criteria set out in these promotion rules. Seneca reserves the right to verify that the winners satisfy all promotion eligibility criteria.

Prize

  • There will be five OneCard Credits valued at $500 each available to be won. 
  • ARV (Approximate Retail Value) per prize = $500 CDN
  • No cash alternative or substitution will be provided, except that Seneca, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize for another item of equal or greater value for any reason.
  • The odds of winning will depend on the total number of eligible entries received. Prize is non-transferable and must be accepted as awarded, without substitution.

Winners will be notified by email or telephone at the address/number provided in their application to Seneca.

  • The winners must be enrolled as new students in a full-time certificate, diploma, advanced diploma, graduate certificate or degree program for the academic term beginning January 2025 or May 2025.
  • To be eligible, the winners must have confirmed Seneca’s offer of admission and paid the applicable tuition fees for full-time studies on or before the first day of classes for their respective term. 
  • The $500 OneCard credit will be issued when the winners become Seneca students (by Day 10 of the respective term).

Internet & Technology

If for any reason the promotion is not capable of running as planned, including tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of Seneca which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, Seneca reserves the right at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion. Seneca reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the promotion (including, but not limited to, any non-human mechanism, entity) to be acting in violation of the Official Rules or to be acting in an unfair or disruptive manner or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with the promotion will not be eligible.
