An Ontario first, the IBM Skills Academy is a professional certification program from IBM in partnership with Seneca. The IBM Skills Academy prepares students for IT careers in an accelerated format that builds local employment capability and aligns with international standards.
Upon successful completion of the IBM Skills Academy program, students will earn IBM Digital Badges - industry recognized digital credentials noted for their technical achievement and contribution.

Seneca students will have 24/7 access to a virtual hands-on learning lab, The IBM Academic Cloud, enabling anytime, anywhere learning. Seneca will also serve as a regional Test Centre for IBM certification.

Computer Programming Graduates and Application Developers with no previous experience working in cloud environments will be able to build foundational skills that are required to develop, test, and deploy cloud-based applications on IBM Cloud. This course is designed to prepare students for the IBM Cloud application developer Badge. The major topic themes of this course include the study of IBM Cloud for developing cloud applications, enhancing applications by using managed services, and the use of DevOps services to manage applications.
This course is geared towards Computer Networking graduates and IT Network Professionals. This course is designed to prepare students for the IBM Security Intelligence Engineer Badge. Using the IBM Skills Academy Career path, this course prepares students to consolidate event logs from device endpoints within a network to identify threats. Students will gain enhanced skills in data security, event offenses, asset profile offenses and event rules. Basic security fundamentals, IT infrastructure, Linux, Windows, and TCP/IP networking are recommended.
