Seneca Polytechnic will be closed from the end of business day on Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, to the reopening on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. Part-time classes for the Winter 2025 Term will begin on Friday, Jan. 10. During the holiday closure, you will still be able to access The Service Hub virtually through the online portal and chatbot.

The Web Programming & Development is intended for students with solid HTML/CSS and web design experience, who are seeking to add or update their employability skills. Some previous JavaScript knowledge is beneficial.

This course is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in Javascript, ES6 and the React MVVN framework. Topics include Javascript/ES6 essentials, Command Line Usage, local development in ReactJS and Integration with Redux.

Python and Django

This hands-on course shows how to rapidly develop and maintain effective Python programs and use the Python Web framework Django. Topics include: Python syntax, built in data types and control constructs and creating and organizing Python programs using functions, packages, modules and classes plus Django's object-relational mapper and Admin interface.

JavaScript and Vue.js

Learn the fundamental concepts of JavaScript that form the foundation for web programming and front-end frameworks. Students learn how to use Vue.js which is an open-source JavaScript framework for building user interfaces and single-page applications. Vue.js has gained much popularity among web developers due to its ease of use and flexibility. It is designed to be incrementally adoptable, meaning that it can be integrated into an existing project gradually, without the need for a full rewrite, for sophisticated user interfaces and powerful modern dynamic web pages.

This course is designed to provide students with a solid foundation of PHP and MySQL and will allow them to create database driven websites. Topics include: installing and configuring PHP, MySQL and Apache, PHP basics, PHP with MySQL and the Laravel framework.
