A+ Certification is a CompTIA (Computing Technology Industry Association) sponsored testing program that certifies the competency of individuals in the computer industry. Earning A+ Certification means that you possess the knowledge and skills essential for a successful computer technology career.
Seneca's intensive training program helps prepare you for the computer based tests with the knowledge and tools necessary to configure, install, diagnose, repair, upgrade and maintain computers and associated technologies.

This course prepares students for careers in the computer support service field. Emphasis is on IBM and IBM-type personal computers (PCs). Students gain a greater understanding of typical PC components and their relationship to the computer's operating system and peripherals. Students will gain hands-on experience in diagnosis and troubleshooting, which helps prepare them to service PCs and related equipment. This course will prepare students to write the the A+ Essentials - Hardware and the A+ Essentials - Operating Systems Software courses.
Upon completion of the A+ Essentials - Hardware and the A+ Essentials - Operating Systems Software courses students will be able to challenge the CompTIA A+ 220-1101 (Core 1) and 220-1102 (Core 2) A+ certification exams with CompTIA. Students must book their own exam with CompTIA and all certification exams are at an additional fee.
This course along with A+ Essentials - Hardware validates knowledge of basic computer hardware and operating systems, covering skills such as installation, building, upgrading, repairing, configuring, troubleshooting, optimizing, diagnosing and preventive maintenance, with additional elements of security and soft skills. The student is encouraged to challenge and write the Industry Certification A+ Exam.
Students should have previous microcomputer experience.
This program is designed for students who are preparing to write the CompTIA A+ Certification. The A+ certification measures necessary competencies for an entry-level IT professional. It includes installing, building, upgrading, repairing, configuring, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and maintenance of basic PC hardware and Operating systems.
